SCAVS
You are one of the lucky ones.
It’s the Scavengers who have the tougher task. They must make their way across a hostile world, avoiding deadly storms, and trying to find enough resources to justify an evac home. You just have to guide them – and keep them alive.
‘System’ tells you not to get friendly – the mission must always come first. But if you choose to listen, you may discover that the Scavenger under your command has their own reasons for being there.
Will you put them at risk in order to achieve the mission, or will you talk to them, find out who they are and why they’re here?
What kind of Operator will you be?
A planet to explore, where your choices will decide the fate of two lives – who may have more in common than they realise.
Whilst the game touches on some darker themes, it's intended to be played by any age or skill-level – in fact, the game may be more forgiving than it initially appears!
Mobile friendly, but best played on a larger screen. Estimated play time: 1.5 hours.
Excerpts from IFComp reviews:
"Stellar production values. Smooth gameplay. A well-conceived and clearly conveyed planet to explore. Two characters with different abilities. Satisfying scavenging gameplay. Some character building and a narrative twist or two. It was one of the most fun games I’ve played so far in the competition, and the action sequence at the end was great too."

"I love this entry unreservedly. Its graphical design is immersive. Its world building, and the choice architecture that it presents the player is broad and rewarding. Its gameplay is tense and engaging. And its dramatic beats are so well constructed their familiarity does not detract from them at all."

"I really enjoyed this game. The first thing I did when I finished was to recommend it to a non-IF-playing friend that I thought would also really enjoy it. I described it to him as “Citizen Sleeper if it were good,” This game has a lot of the same gameplay elements and cyberpunk tropes that appealed … but unlike Citizen Sleeper, it has one specific story to tell using those tropes and it pulls it off pretty much flawlessly."

Loving the game design! This is something new and interesting for me as a Twine game. Excellent! I've bookmarked it to play more later during my free time.
A new twine game?
Time to waste my time on this and get emotional!
Heh, the "No AI" tag is kinda ironic for a game where a central plot point centers around an all-controlling AI. Really well made, got me emotional at parts, and I enjoyed the ending very much. Would recommend!
You have a point! Really glad you enjoyed it.
